Job Description

Black Bear Diner is a well-established restaurant chain known for its rustic, friendly atmosphere and hearty American comfort food. With numerous locations across the United States, Black Bear Diner prides itself on delivering exceptional customer service combined with delicious meals that remind guests of home-cooked goodness. The company maintains a commitment to creating welcoming environments where families and friends can gather to enjoy memorable dining experiences. The newly opening location in Murrieta is set to continue this tradition by hiring motivated and personable Hosts and Cashiers who will play a crucial role in maintaining the restaurant's high service standards.

The Hosts and Cashiers at Black Bear Diner are integral members of the team responsible for greeting guests warmly as they arrive, managing seating arrangements efficiently, and ensuring a smooth flow of customers throughout the dining room. This role is highly customer-focused and demands excellent interpersonal skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to multitask effectively in a bustling environment. A key part of the position involves accommodating guest preferences when seating, managing waiting lists during busy times, and collaborating closely with servers to assist in service stations and maintain cleanliness.

Additionally, this dual-role position incorporates cashier responsibilities such as processing take-out orders, entering food and beverage selections into the point-of-sale system, handling payments accurately, and closing checks. Hosts and Cashiers provide the first and last impressions for guests by offering a friendly welcome upon arrival and a gracious send-off at departure, promoting guest satisfaction and repeat visits. The role requires proactive engagement with guests and team members alike, contributing to a positive workplace where everyone works toward the shared goal of excellent hospitality.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a dynamic, team-oriented restaurant environment and have a passion for delivering outstanding service. Employees are expected to maintain a clean and orderly environment, which includes cleaning and resetting tables, sanitizing seating areas, and assisting with side work duties as assigned by the restaurant manager or supervisor. Flexibility to fill in at various roles as needed highlights the importance of teamwork and adaptability within this position.

Overall, Black Bear Diner’s new Murrieta location is seeking enthusiastic, self-motivated individuals who can bring their unique personalities and dedication to service, enhancing the guest experience and supporting the growth of the brand in the community. Whether greeting guests at the door, processing payments quickly and accurately, or supporting servers behind the scenes, Hosts and Cashiers are vital to the success of the restaurant. This position is ideal for those looking to develop their customer service skills in the food service industry and work in a supportive, fast-paced environment.
