The role of Host at Rib Crib is pivotal in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable dining experience for guests from the moment they enter the restaurant. This position is responsible for directing the flow of guests, managing payment transactions, and securing the cash drawer with accuracy. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Host operates with a high degree of independence and minimal supervision, reflecting the trust placed in this role. Key responsibilities include greeting and seating guests efficiently by using the seating chart and wait list, demonstrating knowledge of Rib Crib's menu items including preparation methods, portion sizes, and pricing to assist customers both in person and over the phone. The Host also handles phone calls, directs inquiries, takes orders for catering and takeout, and ensures the cleanliness and organization of the cashier stand and restroom facilities. Beyond these tasks, the Host supports inventory management by restocking the to-go station and packaging orders for customers.
This role not only requires strong customer service and communication skills but also demands a keen eye for detail when recording and analyzing cash flow activities such as opening, running, and closing the cash register.
