Job Description
Rye Street Tavern, part of the renowned Clyde's Restaurant Group, is an exceptional dining destination located on the Baltimore Peninsula. As a member of this respected group, which operates 14 unique restaurant concepts throughout the DMV (District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia) area, Rye Street Tavern is committed to offering guests unforgettable dining experiences enhanced by a commitment to quality, innovative menus, and outstanding customer service. Established under the umbrella of Clyde's Restaurant Group—a leader in the regional dining scene since 1963—Rye Street Tavern benefits from years of distinguished service and a culture that values both guests and employees. The location is accessible by car and well-served by public transportation, including the Charm City Circulator and local MTA bus routes, making it convenient for both patrons and staff.
We are currently seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Hosts to join our team. This position offers competitive hourly pay ranging from $15.00 to $18.00, with flexible scheduling options including part-time, full-time, and on-call shifts available. As a Host, you will serve as the first point of contact for guests entering the restaurant, creating welcoming and warm environments that set the tone for a memorable dining experience. This role is essential in maintaining an organized and efficient flow within our front-of-house operations while upholding the core values of courtesy, dignity, and respect that define the Clyde's experience.
Working with us means embracing a positive workplace culture where hospitality and excellence are paramount. You will receive comprehensive training both in the classroom and on-premises to ensure you are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed and advance your career within our organization. Additionally, employees enjoy numerous benefits including a generous 401k plan with immediate participation and competitive matching, restaurant and meal discounts, top-tier health insurance plans, and access to wellness resources. Our Employee Assistance Program offers legal, emotional, and financial support, and we foster a supportive environment with opportunities for rapid career growth and merit-based recognition.
The Host role involves engaging guests with professionalism and friendliness, managing reservations and seating arrangements, assisting servers as needed, and maintaining a clean and orderly host station and common areas. Effective communication and multitasking in a fast-paced environment are crucial to success in this role. We seek individuals who are problem solvers, attentive to guest needs, and flexible in their availability—including mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
If you are passionate about hospitality and are looking for a stable company that values its team members, provides competitive pay, and offers excellent growth opportunities, then Rye Street Tavern is the right place for you. Join the Clyde's Restaurant Group family and become part of a long-standing tradition of culinary excellence and outstanding service. We encourage applicants from all backgrounds to apply, even if they do not meet every qualification. We are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring every employee feels valued and supported in their career journey.
