Job Description
Atlas Restaurant Group is a rapidly expanding hospitality company known for its commitment to excellence and high standards across its dining establishments. Based in Baltimore, this group takes pride in delivering memorable guest experiences characterized by outstanding service and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. With a diverse portfolio of restaurants, Atlas strives to uphold a reputation for quality and innovation while maintaining the integrity and friendliness that define the brand. Joining this organization means becoming part of a team that values employee growth, accountability, and a seamless work environment.
The role of Host at Atlas Restaurant Group is a vital frontline position responsible for creating a positive first impression and ensuring guests receive a welcoming and attentive service from the moment they enter. The Host is the face of the establishment’s friendliness, managing the flow of the dining experience by greeting and seating guests, managing wait times, and handling reservations using advanced computer systems such as Toast POS, Restaurant365, and OpenTable. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills to politely engage with guests and assess their needs, ensuring an unforgettable visit while coordinating with the service and bar staff about guest special occasions.
Hosts are also responsible for maintaining a clean and organized host stand, keeping menus ready and sanitized, and overseeing daily cleaning duties including periodic bathroom checks to adhere to cleanliness and sanitation standards. Flexibility is essential as the position typically involves working varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced restaurant environment. While the position does not have supervisory responsibilities, it is integral to the overall dining flow and ensures equitable seating distribution among servers to balance workload.
Compensation varies by location, with hourly rates ranging from $13.00 to $25.00 depending on the state, reflecting the company’s commitment to fair and competitive wages. Benefits for full-time employees working 30 or more hours include health, dental, and vision insurance, 401k contributions, company-paid life and AD&D insurance, learning and development opportunities, advancement potential, pet insurance, and generous discounts at Atlas properties. Part-time employees are also valued and receive benefits such as 401k contributions, life and AD&D insurance, learning programs, career mobility options and discount privileges.
Working as a Host at Atlas Restaurant Group goes beyond performing routine duties. It involves personal accountability, teamwork, emotional intelligence, and engagement with both coworkers and guests to maintain a positive and productive work environment. The company encourages employees to take initiative, give and receive feedback constructively, and uphold professional standards even under stress. The physical demands of the job include standing, walking, and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, requiring agility and quick response in emergency situations.
Overall, this position offers a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and supportive hospitality team dedicated to excellence, professional development, and making a meaningful impact in the restaurant industry. Atlas Restaurant Group promises an inclusive work culture where employees are recognized and appreciated for their contributions towards creating extraordinary guest experiences.
