Job Description

The Ritz Carlton located at Highlands Court in Truckee, California, is a luxury hospitality establishment renowned for its exceptional service, upscale amenities, and dedication to guest satisfaction. As part of the Ritz Carlton brand, this location offers an elegant dining experience and is committed to creating memorable moments for every visitor. The company emphasizes professionalism, quality, and attention to detail, making it a distinguished employer within the food and beverage industry. The resort is situated in a scenic area that attracts both leisure and business travelers, offering a vibrant atmosphere where employees can engage with diverse clientele and develop their hospitality skills in a premium environment.

This full-time position is designed for individuals passionate about delivering outstanding customer service in a dining setting. The role is categorized under Food and Beverage & Culinary, specifically focusing on greeting and seating guests efficiently and courteously. As a non-management team member, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the guest experience by ensuring a smooth and welcoming start to their dining encounter. The hourly pay rate is set at $21.74, reflecting the company’s commitment to fair and competitive compensation.

In this role, employees will be responsible for greeting guests upon arrival, determining the size of their party, and guiding them to appropriate seating. This involves not just finding clean, available tables but also assisting with any special needs related to group seating and ensuring the dining environment is impeccably maintained. Employees will place menus, pull out chairs, and confirm that place settings are accurate, including napkins, silverware, and other standard dining items. Maintaining cleanliness and organization in work areas is an ongoing duty throughout the day, embodying the company’s 'clean-as-you-go' philosophy.

The position requires a proactive approach to monitoring the dining room to ensure guest safety, comfort, and availability of seating. Employees are expected to follow all Ritz Carlton safety protocols, report any incidents or unsafe conditions promptly, and complete any required safety training. Professionalism in appearance and conduct is imperative, as is maintaining confidentiality of proprietary company information.

Effective communication skills are vital, as this role involves courteously welcoming guests, responding to inquiries, and supporting the broader team to achieve collective goals. While no prior related or supervisory experience is necessary, a high school diploma or GED is preferred. This makes the position ideal for entry-level candidates or those seeking to build a career in hospitality within a prestigious organization.

The Ritz Carlton offers a structured environment where employees can learn, grow, and contribute. The position requires physical stamina, including the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and the capability to move and handle objects weighing up to 10 pounds independently. This job is perfect for individuals who enjoy working in a dynamic, guest-focused setting and aspire to uphold the high standards associated with the Ritz Carlton brand.
