Job Description
Cooper's Hawk is a unique and distinguished establishment that combines the charm of a Napa-style tasting room with the warmth and vibrancy of a full-service restaurant, bar, and private event space. Renowned for its modern yet casual dining experience, Cooper's Hawk places significant emphasis on its wine-inspired ethos. Each menu item is thoughtfully crafted in a scratch kitchen to perfectly complement their award-winning wines. Since its inception in 2005, Cooper's Hawk has become an epitome of the Napa Valley experience, captivating guests and Wine Club members with exclusive dining and travel experiences. The Cooper's Hawk Wine Club is one of the largest in the world, offering exclusive benefits that go beyond just wine, creating a holistic lifestyle brand that resonates with wine enthusiasts and food lovers alike.
At Cooper's Hawk, the role of the Host is pivotal in shaping the entire guest experience. As a Host, you will be the first point of contact for guests, setting the tone from the initial welcome to the final farewell. This role is centered around delivering uncompromising hospitality by greeting guests warmly, ensuring smooth table flow, and engaging in helpful conversations that make each guest feel personally valued and taken care of. You will be instrumental in maintaining a seamless dining experience by managing table pacing, adjusting seating plans to avoid bottlenecks, and accommodating special seating requests based on availability. Communication is key in this role; you will regularly coordinate with managers and team members to maintain a fluid service environment and support servers and service assistants as needed.
Success in this role requires showing up ready each day, with energy, professionalism, and a commitment to maintaining a polished and welcoming host area. Responsibilities include answering guest phone calls with hospitality, following operational checklists, and adhering to company appearance and behavior guidelines. Additionally, you will play a part in creating memorable guest moments by sharing knowledge about Cooper's Hawk's Barrel Reserve wines and offering friendly, knowledgeable answers to questions regarding food, wine, and the overall guest experience.
Cooper's Hawk offers an attractive compensation and benefits package to its Hosts, including a 50 percent dining and carryout discount, 40 percent retail wine discount, and 20 percent discount on retail and private events. Team members also enjoy monthly wine tastings for two, comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and telehealth coverage, a 401k plan with company match, paid time off, flexible schedules, early pay access, wellness and mental health support, wine and culinary education, a career growth flight plan, and various rewards like milestone recognition and referral bonuses. This role requires a genuine love for hospitality, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, strong multitasking skills, and a team spirit. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods, with a willingness to work weekends and holidays. Cooper's Hawk is committed to equal opportunity employment and makes reasonable accommodations throughout the hiring process.
Joining Cooper's Hawk means becoming part of an innovative lifestyle brand that celebrates wine, culinary excellence, and exceptional service. As a Host, you will play a critical role in sustaining the brand's reputation and delivering unforgettable experiences that keep guests returning. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality, eager to grow their careers, and enthusiastic about creating treasured moments for guests in an inspiring dining and wine-centric environment.
