As a Host / Hostess at Taste Buds Management, you serve as the company's Guest Relations Representative, often being the first point of contact for guests when they walk into the restaurant or call with inquiries. This critical role is pivotal in establishing the tone for a positive dining experience, as first impressions are lasting and integral to customer satisfaction. As the face of Taste Buds Management's brand hospitality, you will be responsible for welcoming guests with warmth and professionalism, managing seating arrangements efficiently, coordinating communication between the dining room and management, and overseeing the overall flow of the restaurant to ensure a seamless guest experience. Your role also includes managing reservations, waitlists, and coordinating delivery orders when necessary.

Success in this role requires a blend of excellent communication skills, multitasking abilities, and a genuine passion for guest service. You will become an expert in Taste Buds Management’s menu and operations, so you can confidently and accurately provide information and recommendations to guests. Ensuring cleanliness and order in common areas is equally important to uphold the company’s standards for ambience and sanitation. This position demands someone who is attentive, proactive, organized, and capable of handling a busy environment with a positive attitude.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One to three months related experience and/or training
  • Ability to learn, understand, discuss and utilize the company culture as an essential tool in performing the job and interacting with guests, fellow employees and management
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations with other employees
  • Ability to read, write, and understand written and spoken English language
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure

Job Duties

  • Answer the phone within three rings or less
  • Ensure proper telephone courtesy
  • Have superior knowledge of Taste Bud Management's menu and restaurants
  • Provide the total Taste Bud Management guest experience
  • Ensure orders are coordinated and completed for delivery service
  • Coordinate and direct the seater and the greeter
  • Control the flow and fill of the restaurant
  • Stage parties to be seated
  • Seat table for table
  • Communicate the stage at which tables are in their meals
  • Communicate with management about large parties
  • Regularly complete the restroom and floor cleanliness checklist
  • Return menus to the front desk as needed
  • Provide accurate updates
  • Manage the seating of all large parties
  • Communicate with management to help control the flow of the restaurant
  • Manage the wait list
  • Give accurate wait quotes
  • Communicate with guests on any questions
