The role of Host / Hostess at Taste Buds Management is essential in shaping the guest experience, serving as the first point of contact for customers in the restaurant or over the phone. This position plays a pivotal role in making strong first impressions, managing the seating flow, coordinating with service staff, and ensuring overall satisfaction. Individuals in this role must possess superior knowledge of the menu and restaurant operations to effectively answer guest inquiries and deliver information accurately. They must also skillfully manage the seating arrangements for large parties, control the restaurant's flow, stage guests efficiently, and communicate clearly with management and staff to maintain smooth operations.

The Host / Hostess must demonstrate competencies in quality, quantity, safety, and attendance to perform their duties effectively. Accuracy, thoroughness, timely task completion, adherence to safety protocols, and reliable punctuality are vital to fulfilling the requirements of this position. The physical demands of the role include standing, walking, lifting, and maneuvering in varying temperature conditions within the restaurant environment. Candidates will encounter noise, lighting variations, and potential exposure to food allergens such as nuts, shellfish, and dairy.

This is an entry-level position that requires at minimum a high school diploma or GED, coupled with one to three months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A strong ability to learn, understand, and embody the company culture is essential for success, as is proficiency in communication, both written and oral. Job Requirements

  • Ability to learn, understand, discuss, and utilize company culture effectively

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in varied temperature conditions and noise levels

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Answer the phone within three rings or less
  • Ensure proper telephone courtesy
  • Have superior knowledge of Taste Buds Management's menu and restaurants
  • Provide the total Taste Buds Management guest experience
  • Ensure orders are coordinated and completed for delivery service
  • Coordinate and direct the seater and the greeter
  • Control the flow and fill of the restaurant
  • Stage parties to be seated
  • Seat table for table
  • Communicate the stage at which tables are in their meals
  • Communicate with management about large parties
  • Regularly complete the Restroom / Floor Cleanliness checklist
  • Return menus to the front desk as needed
  • Provide accurate updates
  • Manage the seating of all large parties
  • Communicate with management to help control the flow of the restaurant
  • Manage the wait list
  • Give accurate wait quotes
  • Communicate with guests on any questions
