Job Description

HHS is a well-established private, family-owned company that has been dedicated to delivering quality support services since its founding in 1975. Originally known as Hospital Housekeeping Systems, HHS has grown to become a leader in providing exceptional housekeeping and environmental services across various industries including healthcare, aviation, education, government, hospitality, and senior living. The company prides itself on a strong commitment to caring for its team members as well as offering reliable and honest customer service. HHS currently supports nearly 1,000 customers, illustrating its extensive reach and trusted reputation within its service sectors.

This particular position is for housekeepers at HCA Florida North Florida Hospital. The role offers an hourly wage of $15.50 and involves working between 24 to 40 hours per week, with weekends being a required part of the schedule. The company is seeking friendly, compassionate, and cooperative team players to join their housekeeping team. The primary goal for this role within a hospital environment is to provide an exceptional level of cleanliness to help create a safe, comfortable, and healing atmosphere for patients and staff. As part of HHS’s commitment to quality, team members are expected to adhere strictly to all cleaning procedures and best practices to maintain high standards.

Housekeepers are responsible for cleaning assigned areas such as patient rooms, common areas, restrooms, and other hospital facilities. Attention to detail and the ability to monitor and maintain cleanliness throughout shifts are essential. The role also demands a welcoming and kind service approach to all individuals encountered within the hospital setting. Additionally, team collaboration is a key part of the job, requiring housekeepers to assist colleagues and management in maintaining efficient departmental operations.

Candidates should be at least 18 years old, possess effective English communication skills, and be capable of working well in a team-oriented environment. Good personal hygiene, neat grooming, and proper uniform adherence are important for this role. While prior housekeeping experience is preferred, especially in cleaning, environmental services, custodial, janitorial, room attendance, floor care, hotel operations, or healthcare, it is not mandatory.

The physical demands of this job are considerable, including prolonged standing, walking, squatting, bending, twisting, kneeling, and reaching. Employees will also be required to push or pull carts or equipment weighing over 100 pounds on various floor surfaces during their shift. Handling chemicals such as bleach, wax, and disinfectants safely and operating necessary cleaning equipment is mandatory to effectively perform duties.

All applicants must pass a background check, drug screen, and provide proof of employment eligibility within the U.S. The company values veterans and military experience and encourages such candidates to apply. HHS is committed to equal employment opportunities, workplace diversity, and inclusion, ensuring a supportive environment for all associates.
