Job Description
Xanitos, Inc. is a distinguished management company specializing in providing a range of essential services to the healthcare industry, including hospital housekeeping, patient transport, central laundry services, and patient observation. The company sets itself apart through its patented XRO System designed for efficiently cleaning patient rooms, an exceptional operations management team, and its status as a private enterprise that prioritizes delivering top-quality service to healthcare facilities. This dedication to excellence has enabled Xanitos to achieve remarkable outcomes in the hospitals it serves, such as enhancing cleaning quality, improving HCHAPS scores, reducing the risk of healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), shortening bed turnaround time, and significantly cutting operational costs.
Xanitos is currently hiring part-time Hospital Housekeepers for the 2nd and 3rd shifts at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This opportunity offers immediate job offers for qualified candidates, with a competitive hourly pay rate of $17.75. The 2nd shift runs from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., and the 3rd shift lasts from 11:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. Employees will work every other weekend with rotating holiday shifts.
The role of a Hospital Housekeeper with Xanitos involves maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within various locations on the healthcare campus to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities include cleaning and polishing lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, trim, rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, and locker rooms. Additional duties entail sweeping and vacuuming floors, dusting furniture and equipment, polishing metalwork, washing walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills. Housekeepers also empty wastebaskets, transport trash and waste to disposal areas, replenish bathroom supplies, and manage the movement of small equipment or tools between departments.
This role demands physical stamina and the ability to perform various tasks such as standing or walking for prolonged periods, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting up to 50 pounds, and using visual acuity for detailed work. The working environment may involve exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and occasional proximity to mechanical parts, although typically the noise level remains quiet. The company strives to provide reasonable accommodations to employees with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Xanitos values safety and health compliance; therefore, successful applicants must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and will undergo post-offer medical screening, background checks, and drug testing. Experience in janitorial or medical cleaning is considered a plus but not mandatory. Candidates must hold at least a high school diploma or GED or possess an equivalent qualification. This position offers a unique chance for individuals seeking flexible, part-time work while contributing to the critical mission of maintaining a clean and safe healthcare environment. The company encourages prompt applications and promises swift interview scheduling and hiring for qualified applicants, emphasizing its commitment to efficient staffing and exceptional service delivery.
