The role of the Financial Counselor at Insight Hospital and Medical Center is integral to the patient access and financial services team. Reporting directly to the Patient Access Director or Manager, the Financial Counselor is responsible for assisting patients and guarantors in obtaining necessary healthcare funding through programs such as Charity Care, Medicaid, Medicare, and other state or federal assistance initiatives. This position requires engaging with patients to educate them on their financial responsibilities, available payment options, and insurance benefits. The Financial Counselor ensures that the hospital maximizes reimbursement for services rendered while supporting patients in securing financial aid options, especially for those who are uninsured or underinsured. This role also includes performing cashiering duties and customer service functions to maintain smooth financial operations.

The Financial Counselor works in a confidential manner aligned with Insight Hospital's mission and values, providing compassionate service to patients, staff, and physicians alike. Responsibilities include guiding patients through application processes for funding programs, analyzing financial and eligibility data, establishing payment plans, and following up on application statuses.
