The company is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Education Superintendent to lead significant hospital construction projects as well as other institutional builds. This permanent role, based in Columbus, offers a competitive base salary ranging from $100,000 to $130,000 per year with an additional annual performance-based bonus potential between $12,500 and $20,000. As a Higher Education Superintendent, you will have a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities throughout the project lifecycle, from preconstruction planning through completion. You will ensure that all work is executed safely, efficiently, and aligns with project plans, specifications, and quality standards. Your responsibilities will include managing subcontractors, coordinating site logistics and construction sequencing, monitoring daily progress, workforce productivity, schedules, and site safety. You will serve as a vital communication link between owners, project managers, architects, engineers, inspectors, and field personnel to foster collaboration and ensure successful project delivery. Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of field supervision construction management or superintendent experience
  • Experience managing ground-up renovation tenant improvement infrastructure or occupied-facility construction projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods project sequencing site logistics safety regulations quality control processes and subcontractor management
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings specifications contracts project schedules RFIs submittals and scope requirements
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with multiple project stakeholders

Job Qualifications

  • 5+ years of field supervision construction management or superintendent experience overseeing commercial institutional healthcare education or other complex construction projects
  • Experience managing ground-up renovation tenant improvement infrastructure or occupied-facility construction projects with responsibility for on-site coordination scheduling and subcontractor oversight preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods project sequencing site logistics safety regulations quality control processes and subcontractor management
  • Ability to review and interpret construction drawings specifications contracts project schedules RFIs submittals and scope requirements to ensure work is completed in accordance with project expectations
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with owners project managers architects engineers subcontractors inspectors and field personnel to drive collaboration and successful project outcomes

Job Duties

  • Lead and supervise all on-site construction activities from preconstruction through project completion ensuring work is executed safely efficiently and according to project plans and specifications
  • Coordinate and maintain effective working relationships with owners project managers architects engineers subcontractors inspectors and field personnel to support successful project execution and delivery
  • Monitor daily construction progress workforce productivity project schedules quality standards and site risks implementing proactive solutions to maintain project milestones and operational goals
  • Oversee field operations subcontractor performance material procurement coordination inspections and project closeout activities while ensuring compliance with contract requirements safety regulations and applicable building codes
  • Coordinate site logistics and construction sequencing to minimize disruptions to surrounding operations maintain safe working conditions and ensure the delivery of high-quality construction projects on schedule and within scope
