Job Description
The Dallas/Plano Marriott at Legacy Town Center is a well-established hotel located in the vibrant city of Plano, Texas. As part of the globally recognized Marriott Hotels brand, this property prides itself on offering exceptional hospitality services and an outstanding guest experience. Situated at 7121 Bishop Rd, the hotel provides easy access to key local attractions, business hubs, and entertainment venues, making it a preferred destination for both leisure and business travelers. The Marriott brand is known for its commitment to quality, employee development, and community involvement, creating a welcoming environment for guests and associates alike.
This job opportunity is for a High School Co-op position, which is a part-time, non-management role designed specifically for high school students or those enrolled in high school programs. The position offers a unique chance to gain practical, hands-on experience in the hospitality industry and learn the various facets of hotel operations. Co-ops in this role will have the opportunity to work across multiple departments, such as the front desk, restaurants, room operations, and events. This rotational experience allows young individuals to discover different career paths within the hotel industry and develop valuable skills in customer service, communication, and teamwork.
The High School Co-op serves as a vital support role within the hotel, assisting both guests and staff to ensure smooth daily operations. Responsibilities include helping guests with check-in and check-out processes, delivering items throughout the property, and supporting various departments as needed. The role demands a strong commitment to professionalism, punctuality, adherence to company policies, and maintaining high standards of personal appearance and communication. The work environment involves standing, walking, and moving around the hotel for extended periods, sometimes on uneven or slippery surfaces, and performing physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects up to 25 pounds independently, or up to 50 pounds with assistance.
This position is an excellent gateway for high school students interested in exploring a career in hospitality or gaining general work experience in a professional setting. It provides valuable exposure to the dynamics of the hotel industry, fosters responsibility, and builds practical skills that can lead to future full-time employment opportunities within Marriott or the broader hospitality sector. The Dallas/Plano Marriott at Legacy Town Center values the contributions of its High School Co-op employees and supports their growth through on-the-job training and mentoring. This job is not only a chance to develop workplace skills but also to make a positive impact on guests' experiences by helping maintain a safe, welcoming, and efficient hotel environment. As a part-time role, the High School Co-op position offers flexibility for students managing academic commitments while gaining meaningful work experience.
