Currently, EquipmentShare is hiring a Heavy Equipment Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Driver to join their rental facility team in Alachua, FL. This full-time position operates Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with overtime pay available after 40 hours per week, along with on-call scheduling that comes with additional compensation. The Heavy Equipment CDL Driver plays an essential role in operating vehicles compliant with state and federal transportation regulations, ensuring that loads are transported safely and on time. The position involves maneuvering trucks and trailers skillfully into loading and unloading zones while supporting the loading crew through signal coordination. Drivers assist with the loading and unloading of goods, utilize specialized equipment as necessary, and ensure all shipments are properly documented with necessary paperwork like invoices and bills of lading. They are also responsible for routine vehicle maintenance checks and collaborating closely with shipping supervisors to report any malfunctions or service needs.

Job Requirements
- must hold a commercial drivers license class a cdl or chauffeur's license
- must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and state transportation regulations
- must pass dot physical
- must be at least 21 years old
- able to sit for prolonged periods
- able to lift and move up to 40 pounds
- able to travel frequently
- may be required to be clean shaven
- must pass 10 panel drug screen

- must pass background and drug testing as required by federal and state transportation regulations

Job Duties
- operate vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws
- transport loads safely and in a timely manner over required route obeying all traffic laws and safety regulations
- deftly maneuver truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas and follow loading crew signals
- assist with loading and unloading of goods and materials using specialized equipment when necessary
- maintain signed invoices shipping bills of lading and other required paperwork and deliver documentation to shipping office
- facilitate routine service on trucks including checking oil water gasoline and air and report maintenance malfunctions
- arrange trailers in shipping yards for optimum loading patterns
- perform other related duties as assigned
