Since its founding in 1978, Flynn has built a reputation for excellence and reliability, driven by a strong culture rooted in values such as safety, honesty, integrity, and accountability. Known as "The Flynn Way," these principles are embedded in every action and decision made by the company, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment often described by the motto "Flynn Family Winning Together." Flynn is recognized for its steady growth thanks to the contributions of its talented and dedicated team.
The company is safety-focused and committed to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment for its employees, clients, and communities where it operates. Flynn provides comprehensive safety programs and continuously invests in career development to ensure its workforce is knowledgeable and prepared. This commitment makes it an ideal place for professionals who prioritize safety and quality in construction.
The role of Health and Safety Specialist at Flynn Group of Companies is an exciting opportunity for candidates with a minimum of one year of experience in construction safety. This position demands a hands-on approach, balancing responsibilities both in the office and on the job sites, reflecting a 60/40 split. The specialist will administer the company's safety and health programs, provide and document safety training and orientation, and ensure compliance with all site safety standards. This includes attending pre-work and preparatory meetings, maintaining a list of high-hazard activities, and supporting supervision of safety practices across projects.
Daily tasks will focus on protecting workers and maintaining adherence to regulatory requirements, emphasizing proactive hazard identification and education. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team where ongoing career development and learning are encouraged. This role is based at the job site daily, offering direct engagement with the frontline of construction activities.
Flynn Group of Companies offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health, vision, disability, and dental insurance; paid vacation and holidays; an employee and family assistance program; wellness benefits like gym membership discounts; and technology allowances such as smartphones and computers. Additionally, employees benefit from a 401k plan with company match, paid overtime for hours worked beyond 40 per week, and practical perks including truck or allowance and gas card. This comprehensive offering helps support both work-life balance and professional growth.
Flynn Group is dedicated to equal employment opportunities and encourages minorities, women, disabled individuals, and protected veterans to apply. The company requires all new hires to pass pre-employment drug tests, maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation, and to have legal authorization to work in the U.S. Applicants may undergo background checks as part of the hiring process, especially when working on secured job sites such as schools and military bases. Flynn uses AI tools to support initial resume screening but decisions are ultimately human-led.
This position represents a significant opportunity within a reputable and expanding organization that values safety, teamwork, and excellence. The Health and Safety Specialist will contribute to maintaining the high standards that Flynn is known for while helping to foster a safe working environment across multiple projects. If you have the required experience and passion for construction safety, Flynn Group of Companies invites you to apply and become part of their award-winning team.
