Job Requirements

  • four years of housekeeping work experience in a fully functioning housekeeping department in a health care or institutional setting, with at least one year of administrative or supervisory experience
  • or executive housekeepers certificate with two years of housekeeping experience including one year of supervisory experience
  • candidates must be reachable on the current head housekeeper eligible list or qualify for transfer under civil service law
  • ability to pass background checks as required
  • willingness to comply with additional credential requirements if applicable

Job Qualifications

  • professional housekeeping experience in a health care or institutional setting
  • supervisory experience of at least one year
  • executive housekeepers certificate issued by the International Housekeepers Association, Inc. (preferred)
  • ability to manage and motivate staff
  • strong organizational skills
  • effective communication skills

Job Duties

  • planning and scheduling staff assignments
  • reassigning staff as needed to ensure work is completed and handle emergency cleaning projects
  • inspecting buildings for compliance with cleaning program
  • investigating complaints regarding unsatisfactory cleaning performance
