The Head Chef role at JOEY Restaurants offers a unique opportunity to contribute directly to the success of a multi-million-dollar restaurant and be a pivotal part of the team. This leadership position involves managing culinary operations to deliver memorable, consistent, and iconic experiences for guests. The Head Chef is responsible for guiding their team through food preparation, ensuring high-quality product standards, and maintaining a pristine and safe kitchen environment. They play an essential role in managing labor budgets, food costs, and in-store budgets to optimize restaurant profitability. Additionally, as a mentor and coach, the Head Chef inspires continuous learning, growth, and development among team members, fostering a motivated and high-performing kitchen staff.
Day-to-day responsibilities of the Head Chef include coordinating ingredient and food product preparation, executing menu items promptly using various cooking techniques such as grilling, roasting, sautéing, frying, and more. The role requires maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in prep and cooking areas and ensuring refrigeration and storage are well organized and maintained. The Head Chef also has recruitment responsibilities, shaping a positive candidate experience and ensuring the selection and retention of quality team members. Job Requirements
- 3+ years culinary experience
- Must have or be able to obtain valid local and/or state Food Handler permits
- Possess a passion for hospitality and a proven track record of creating world-class hospitality experiences
- Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment
- Be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time

Job Duties
- Support your team in the preparation of all ingredients and food products to fulfill prep lists, par levels, and recipe standards
- Utilize various preparation and cooking methods to ensure the quick, precise creation of our menu items in accordance with JOEY recipes
- Maintain prep and cooking areas in a clean, sanitary and safe manner
- Ensure clean, organized, and maintained refrigerators, cooler drawers, ovens, preparation, and dry storage areas
- Train partners on the instructions and guidelines for safe usage of kitchen equipment and cleaning compounds
- Fulfill recruitment needs, impact positive candidate experiences, and select and retain your team
- Support your team in training and development of technical knowledge and world-class execution of JOEY tasks and standards
