Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
- 4 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area OR 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
- 2 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
- strong leadership skills
- knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards
- excellent communication skills
- ability to manage and lead kitchen staff
- proficiency in budgeting and operational management
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED, 4 years experience in culinary or food and beverage field, OR 2-year degree in Culinary Arts or related major with 2 years experience, strong leadership and communication skills, knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards, ability to develop menus and recipes, experience managing kitchen operations and staff, proficiency in budgeting and scheduling, customer service orientation, ability to train and mentor employees, problem-solving skills, ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- prepares and cooks foods of all types, reviews and adjusts systems and procedures in the kitchen, develops and creates new menus and recipes, ensures compliance with food handling and sanitation standards, supervises kitchen shift operations, maintains purchasing and food storage standards, operates and maintains kitchen equipment, supports food and beverage portion and waste controls, develops environmentally friendly food preparation processes, checks quality of food products, assists in food presentation and decorative displays, supervises and coordinates activities of cooks and kitchen staff, leads and manages employees, manages day-to-day kitchen operations, encourages teamwork and communication, estimates and communicates daily production needs, leads shifts while preparing food items, achieves performance and budget goals, manages scheduling and employee attendance, orders and maintains employee uniforms, reviews staffing levels, provides exceptional customer service, handles guest problems and complaints, coaches and trains employees, manages hiring and performance appraisals, solicits employee feedback, provides information and reports to supervisors and team, analyzes information to solve problems, attends meetings
