Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • legally authorized to work in the United States
  • valid NYC food handler's permit
  • ability to stand for long periods
  • ability to lift 50+ lbs
  • minimum 4 years of baking experience
  • minimum 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience

Job Qualifications

  • At least 4 years of professional baking experience
  • minimum 1 year of team leadership or supervisory experience
  • solid understanding of kitchen workflow, efficiency, and time management
  • strong problem-solving skills
  • valid NYC food handler's permit
  • ability to stand for the duration of a full shift
  • ability to lift 50+ lbs
  • basic Spanish communication skills (preferred)
  • knowledge or experience with vegan/gluten-free baking (preferred)
  • interest in maintaining sourdoughs and working with preferments (preferred)

Job Duties

  • Oversee daily bakery operations to keep production running smoothly
  • monitor inventory and order all supplies, including ingredients, paper goods, and smallwares
  • lead the team in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen meeting all health code and sanitation standards
  • prepare and mix doughs and execute baking tasks according to established recipes
  • ensure quality standards are consistently met
  • coordinate shift schedules and delegate tasks among team members
  • troubleshoot production issues and implement effective solutions
