The bakery is currently seeking a seasoned Head Baker to join their Greenpoint, Brooklyn commissary bakery to oversee daily operations. This full-time role requires dedication from Monday to Friday with shift hours from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Head Baker will be instrumental in leading the production team, ensuring that all baking processes adhere to the high standards set by the company. The ideal candidate will bring a minimum of four years of professional baking experience, with at least one year in a supervisory or leadership position. Although prior experience in gluten-free baking is not mandatory, those with production baking backgrounds will be given preference.
In this leadership role, the Head Baker will not only manage the day-to-day workflow but also actively participate in baking tasks including dough preparation, mixing, and execution of baking according to established recipes. They are responsible for monitoring and ordering inventory to maintain continuous production, including ingredients and other supplies such as paper goods and smallwares. An important component of the role is maintaining a clean, safe, and organized working environment that complies with all health codes and sanitation standards.
This position demands strong problem-solving abilities combined with excellent team leadership skills to guide and support bakery staff efficiently. Physical stamina is essential as the role requires standing for the entire shift and the ability to lift over 50 pounds when necessary. Candidates must possess a valid NYC food handler’s permit and be legally authorized to work in the United States. Additional assets include familiarity with vegan and gluten-free baking techniques, interest in sourdough maintenance and working with preferments, and basic communication skills in Spanish.

Job Duties
- Oversee daily bakery operations to keep production running smoothly
- monitor inventory and order all supplies, including ingredients, paper goods, and smallwares
- lead the team in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen meeting all health code and sanitation standards
- prepare and mix doughs and execute baking tasks according to established recipes
