Job Description

RMC Events is Virginia's premier event staffing company dedicated to delivering exceptional event management services and support. Established with a commitment to excellence and a people-first philosophy, RMC Events has built its reputation by prioritizing both client satisfaction and guest safety across a wide range of events. Serving multiple regional markets including Richmond, Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, and Tidewater, RMC Events offers comprehensive staffing solutions for professional venues hosting collegiate sporting events, concerts, festivals, fairs, and more. As a part-time event staff member at RMC Events, you will play a crucial role in creating and maintaining a safe, organized, and enjoyable environment for thousands of guests across Virginia. The role is designed to accommodate flexible schedules, making it ideal for individuals seeking part-time employment with competitive hourly pay starting at $15 per hour. This is a non-exempt position reporting directly to an Account Manager, offering punctuality and reliability a high priority.

As an Events Staff member, your responsibilities will encompass a variety of key duties, reflecting the diverse nature of event management. You will be cross-trained in multiple positions such as ticket-taking, scanning, ushering, bag checking, parking attendance, and crowd management. This diversity ensures that you gain broad experience and the ability to adapt quickly to different roles required during events. Your primary objective will be to ensure a superior level of customer service while upholding rigorous security protocols before, during, and after event ingress and egress. You will act as a frontline ambassador for the company, engaging with guests with a positive and calm demeanor to educate them on safety policies and promote a welcoming atmosphere.

Working within high-energy environments, you will need to be vigilant and observant, identifying any suspicious or hazardous situations and promptly reporting them to event supervisors or emergency personnel. Your role is pivotal in crisis prevention and resolution, which means quick decision-making and effective communication are essential skills. Physical requirements include standing for extended periods and performing repetitive movements, as well as the ability to lift items weighing up to 20 pounds. The work environment varies between controlled indoor settings and occasional outdoor conditions subject to changing weather. This necessitates flexibility and resilience, as you might encounter a variety of weather patterns and temperatures during your shifts.

The position demands technological proficiency, including basic computer skills such as using email, scheduling software, and virtual communication platforms like Zoom and Microsoft Teams. RMC Events supports career growth and development through comprehensive training provided during the onboarding process, which includes registration as an Unarmed Security Officer through the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services. This registration is mandatory, ensuring all staff operate within the highest standards of legal and professional compliance.

RMC Events values inclusivity and diversity, encouraging candidates from all backgrounds to apply and fostering an inclusive workplace environment. Reliability, professionalism, and a neat, well-groomed appearance are required standards for all employees. Moreover, you must have dependable transportation and demonstrate punctuality to successfully fulfill your duties. If you are enthusiastic about contributing to dynamic events while supporting both safety and hospitality, this part-time position with RMC Events is a rewarding opportunity to join Virginia's leading event staffing team.
