Job Requirements
- Be less than seventy years old
- maintain weight not to exceed 250 pounds
- have flown in category for a commercial operator or military within the last 24 months
- comply with drug and alcohol testing per DOT/FAA requirements
- possess associate's degree or equivalent
- have required flight times and certifications
- maintain physical and professional standards
- ability to perform essential functions
- availability for full-time employment
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent experience
- 2000 total flight hours with a minimum of 1500 in category
- 1000 hours PIC in category
- 500 hours rotor wing turbine time
- 200 hours cross-country flight time with at least 50 at night
- 100 hours unaided night as PIC or 50 hours unaided with 100 hours NVG time
- 50 hours actual or hood instrument time in flight and in category
- commercial and instrument rating for category and class of aircraft
- ATP rating in category
- first or second class FAA medical certificate
- ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships
- adherence to safety and operational standards
- familiar with aircraft and medical systems
Job Duties
- Operate Air Methods aircraft safely and legally
- complete pre-flight inspections and daily flight log sign-offs
- perform thorough walk-arounds before and after flights
- maintain final authority over aircraft operations ensuring safety of passengers, cargo and equipment
- stay familiar with all aircraft and medical systems
- ensure medical teams are comfortable with aircraft interiors and systems
- complete all required documentation accurately
- conduct detailed flight planning with minimal notice
- participate in company meetings, projects, and community outreach
- prioritize safety at all times
