We are a boutique gynecology practice with three convenient locations: Columbus Circle, Midtown Manhattan, and Rego Park in Queens. The Front Desk Receptionist and Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our gynecology practice. This position requires a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual who can provide both administrative and clinical support to our doctors, facilitating efficient and positive patient visits. Responsibilities include managing telephone communications by answering calls and relaying messages to physicians and the management team, as well as processing payments made in person or over the phone. Coordinating and confirming patient appointments is a key aspect of this role, alongside verifying insurance eligibility and explaining copay and deductible details clearly to patients.
Candidates for this role should thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment while maintaining a high standard of medical ethics and confidentiality. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as candidates must interact with patients, doctors, and support staff pleasantly and professionally. Our practice offers steady growth potential, with successful receptionists and coordinators having the opportunity to advance into managerial roles. This position is ideally full-time, averaging 4-5 workdays per week, including Saturday availability. Work locations are available both in Midtown Manhattan and the Forest Hills vicinity in Queens, providing flexibility based on the candidates preferred site.
Approximately 85 percent of the work involves operational support to the doctor, 10 percent includes pre-examination duties, and the remaining 5 percent focuses on maintaining a clean and professional workspace to uphold the practices inviting atmosphere. This detail-oriented role requires the ability to work efficiently, multitask, and problem-solve while handling sensitive patient information with discretion.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years experience in a medical office
- Proficiency in medical typing and electronic health records
- Ability to work quickly and problem solve while remaining detail oriented and accurate
- Spanish language skills preferred
- Ability to communicate clearly and pleasantly
- Availability to work 4-5 days a week including Saturdays
- Ability to maintain high medical ethical standards
- Experience with customer service preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Computer skills preferred
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2 or more years experience in a medical office
- Proficient in medical typing and electronic health records (experience with DrChrono and Zocdoc knowledge a plus)
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment
