This job opportunity is for the position of Guest Services Representative within the Front Office department at a Marriott hotel. This role is integral to the front line of guest interaction, providing the highest level of service in a professional, efficient, and courteous manner while adhering to Marriott's rigorous standards of hospitality. The role is hourly, non-exempt, and offers a compensation rate of $15 per hour. The Guest Services Representative acts as the face of the hotel, ensuring all guest needs are met promptly and accurately, from check-in and check-out procedures to handling reservations and providing local information.

The responsibilities of the Guest Services Representative include managing guest registration, room assignments, and accommodating special requests. The role requires familiarity with the hotel’s daily operations, including room rates, packages, discounts, and promotions. Proficiency with Marriott’s Property Management System (PMS) and front desk software such as MARSHA is essential. The representative is also responsible for maintaining cash handling procedures, ensuring proper billing and accounting at check-out, and managing safe deposit boxes and mail confidentially.

This position demands exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to engage guests from around the world. The representative must be knowledgeable about Marriott’s loyalty programs, such as Marriott Rewards and Club Marquis, to enhance guest experiences. Job Requirements

  • Knowledge of English and local language
  • Ability to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner
  • Ability to communicate with all managers supervisors and fellow associates
  • Ability to handle conflict situations professionally
  • Be well groomed and conform to the hotels dress code
  • Valid driver's license and clean motor vehicle record
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in guest services or hospitality preferred
  • Proficiency with property management systems such as MARSHA
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle cash and perform accurate transactions
  • Knowledge of Marriott Rewards and frequent traveler programs
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Report to work on time in proper and clean uniform including name tag
  • Handle all duties according to hotel policies procedures internal rules and standards
  • Conform to cash handling procedures at all times
  • Be knowledgeable about daily hotel operations check daily event sheet bulletin boards and be up to date with all changes new procedures and events
  • Get a daily briefing about extraordinary events to effectively deal with all foreseen situations
  • Have knowledge about room rates packages discounts and promotions and know how to handle each
  • Have knowledge about guest rooms locations amenities features and all other services offered by the hotel
