The role of the Guest Services Representative at City of Hope is pivotal in maintaining the organization's reputation for outstanding patient and guest care. This part-time position requires the candidate to work on Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with additional on-call responsibilities every Monday. Candidates must be flexible as shift times and days may vary based on operational needs. The Guest Services Representative acts as the welcoming face for patients, visitors, and guests at the Guest Quarters or Hospital Concierge Desk, demonstrating professionalism, warmth, and genuine concern. This position demands excellent customer service skills, requiring close coordination with multiple departments including Travel and Accommodations, Transportation, Security, Registration, and Financial Counselors to ensure a seamless and supportive experience for those engaging with City of Hope’s services. The role involves managing multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment, displaying a positive and outgoing personality, and providing assistance to individuals who may have mobility or other challenges. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic office equipment is necessary, alongside strong communication and problem-solving skills. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in customer service
  • Familiarity with healthcare or hotel environments preferred
  • Ability to work Thursdays, Fridays, Sundays from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM and on-call Mondays
  • Strong communication skills
  • Organizational ability with multitasking skills
  • Willingness to assist individuals needing physical assistance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic typing skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a fast-paced customer service environment preferably in healthcare or hotel industries
  • Some college education strongly preferred, particularly in Hospitality or Hotel Services
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic office equipment
  • Ability to multitask efficiently and stay organized
  • Positive and professional demeanor with the ability to interact with diverse populations
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility with work schedule including weekends, on-call duties, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate high standards of patient care at the Guest Quarters or Hospital Concierge Desk
  • Provide a warm, professional, and genuine welcome to guests through eye contact and a smile
  • Address questions and concerns promptly with excellent customer service
  • Collaborate closely with Travel and Accommodations, Transportation, Security, Registration, and Financial Counselors departments
  • Assist individuals who need help with mobility aids such as wheelchairs, oxygen tanks, or luggage
  • Maintain organized multitasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Adapt to changing schedules and business needs
