The available housekeeping position at this Newark property focuses on maintaining the high standards of cleanliness and guest service that Shaner Hotels is known for. This role requires flexibility in scheduling, including working weekends, holidays, and varied shifts, to ensure that the hotel's environment remains pristine at all times. Housekeepers are responsible for cleaning guest rooms according to the hotel's set standards, using appropriate chemicals safely, and adhering to all safety and security protocols. The role includes handling guest requests and complaints with professionalism, maintaining confidentiality and security for guest rooms, and reporting any maintenance issues to ensure prompt resolution.
In addition to daily cleaning, housekeepers will perform deeper seasonal cleaning tasks as scheduled and assist with restocking supplies and cleaning carts at the end of shifts. The position demands excellent communication skills, the ability to work effectively with guests, management, and coworkers, and a knowledge of local attractions to help enhance guests' experience when possible. Job Requirements
- Be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends holidays and varied shifts

- Good communication skills

Job Qualifications
- Minimum one year cleaning experience
- Previous hotel experience preferred
- Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests management and co-workers
- Knowledge of proper chemical handling
- Bilingual English Spanish a plus
- Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for clientele
Job Duties
- Be available to work a flexible schedule including weekends holidays and varied shifts
- Handle guest complaints ensuring guest satisfaction
- Maintain standards of quality and cleanliness throughout daily assignments
- Observe all house and safety rules housekeeping room procedures and security procedures
- Clean and service assigned guest rooms by category priority according to franchise and hotel standards
- Return and restock cart at end of shift
- Complete additional deep cleaning and seasonal cleaning functions as scheduled
- Other duties as assigned
