The Entertainment Ambassador at Great Wolf Lodge plays a crucial role in creating a vibrant and exciting atmosphere tailored primarily for children. This position involves hands-on engagement with guests, leading a variety of kids’ activities and branded entertainment experiences designed to be unforgettable. The role is available with flexible scheduling options, including full-time and part-time opportunities, offering a starting pay of $14.50 per hour. Employment at Great Wolf Lodge welcomes those who are at least sixteen years of age, with some positions such as aquatics roles like lifeguards available to those fifteen and older.
As an Entertainment Ambassador, you will be responsible for directly interacting with guests to provide lively, high-energy family entertainment. Responsibilities include leading energizing branded experiences such as Storytime, Dance Party, Yoga, Arts and Crafts, and specialty events like the Master Magi Ceremony. You will also manage character appearances, ensuring characters follow strict operation guidelines, communicate non-verbally, and engage guests effectively as a guide. This role demands a charismatic, enthusiastic attitude, and the ability to maintain composure while delivering engaging entertainment multiple times a day.
In addition to these dynamic entertainment duties, the ambassador assists with community appearances, seasonal event activities, and support functions like inventory management of event materials. The position emphasizes continuous learning through Great Wolf University’s training programs and values diversity, inclusion, and holistic employee well-being. Job Requirements
- At least 16 years old (15 for some aquatics positions)
- Flexibility regarding scheduling including evenings, weekends and holidays
- Successful completion of a criminal background and drug screen
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Able to sit or stand for long periods
- Ability to fit and wear character suits including endurance in heat and humidity for up to 60 minutes
- Ability to perform in hot, humid and outdoor environments up to 60 minutes
Job Qualifications
- Some high school education or equivalent
- Proven customer service skills and communication skills
- Comfortable speaking, dancing, and performing in front of large groups
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
- Previous experience in entertainment, dance or theater is a plus
- Charismatic and enthusiastic attitude
- Proven teamwork skills
- Previous experience as a character or working with children is beneficial
Job Duties
- Personally interact with Great Wolf Lodge guests
- Willingness to perform child-friendly promotional activities on-site and in the community
- Willingness to represent Great Wolf Lodge, and our mission and core values, in a positive manner on and off site
- Perform all branded experiences consistently according to standard operating procedures
- Perform high energy brand events/experiences throughout the shift including Storytime, Dance Party, Yoga, Arts and Crafts, Master Magi Ceremony and other Great Wolf Branded experiences
- Interact with families while leading different hands on activities such as arts and crafts, bingo, board games, etc
- Responsible for all aspects of Character Appearances and Entertainment at the property including performing character appearance duties, acting as a guide for characters, managing character costume operations, participating in seasonal events, and supporting community appearances
