Job Requirements

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
  • Six months experience in sales, customer service or hotel industry preferred
  • Knowledge of general sales techniques
  • Experience in yield management
  • Highly developed customer service skills
  • Ability to hear, speak, read and write English fluently
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing stairs, carrying up to 25 lbs, and mobility within the hotel
  • Possession of valid state driver’s license
  • Must have own reliable transportation
  • Effective business writing skills
  • Ability to work in-office
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and solve problems
  • Professional and neat appearance

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
  • College degree preferred
  • Six months minimum in sales, customer service, or hotel experience preferred
  • Knowledge of general sales techniques
  • Experience with yield management
  • Highly developed customer service skills
  • Ability to hear, speak, read, and write English fluently
  • 12th grade level mathematics, spelling, and reading skills
  • Effective business writing skills
  • Ability to meet clients on and off premises and perform property tours
  • Vision to read fine print, computer screens, and observe rooms in poorly lit conditions
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong internal and customer relationship development skills
  • Ability to set and manage priorities and plan activities
  • Sound problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Openness to coaching and training
  • Strong and effective sales skills

Job Duties

  • Target results-oriented high revenue potential sales calls to ensure a successful direct sales program
  • Utilize reliable transportation to make sales calls
  • Maximize current hotel key accounts by identifying revenue growth opportunities
  • Achieve minimum productivity and activity goals set by management
  • Capture competitor’s accounts through networking and research to generate new business
  • Follow up on all leads within 48 hours and acquire referrals
  • Implement targeted account development strategies for new revenue growth
  • Negotiate room rates and function space commitments using yield management techniques
  • Maintain well-documented and organized client files
  • Develop strong customer relationships through professional and ethical communication
  • Conduct market research to capitalize on hotel strengths
  • Dedicate minimum 90% work time to revenue-producing sales activities
  • Control expenses while traveling
  • Represent the hotel and Sage Development Resources with integrity and professionalism
  • Maintain positive team attitude and open communication
  • Display neat, clean, and business-like appearance at all times
