Omni Hotels & Resorts is currently seeking a Group Sales Manager to join their dynamic team at Omni Barton Creek Resort & Spa. This role is pivotal in driving group business sales to the resort by building and maintaining strong client relationships, meeting or exceeding sales goals, and actively soliciting group business accounts. The Group Sales Manager will be responsible for identifying potential prospects, managing accounts diligently, and maximizing revenue through effective communication of rates and packages within established guidelines.
The position requires participating in various sales initiatives including telemarketing, trade shows, and sales blitzes as well as coordinating closely with internal departments such as Convention Services and Reservation Sales to ensure seamless event execution. The Group Sales Manager will also be tasked with booking group blocks primarily ranging from 10 to 75 rooms for peak nights and weddings, helping to maintain the resort’s position as a top choice for group events and conferences.
This role requires a highly motivated individual who is personable, passionate about hospitality, and capable of representing Omni’s brand with professionalism and enthusiasm. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum two years related sales experience at a conference hotel
- Experience with cold calling, contract closing and site visits
- Ability to use computer software programs
- Knowledge of hotel departments and amenities
- Ability to meet sales targets and maintain client relationships
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in business, communications, or hotel management preferred
- Two years or more related experience in sales work at a conference hotel
- Experience in cold call solicitation, contract closing, site inspections, fam trips and contract negotiations
- Current knowledge of pertinent computer software programs and equipment
- Working knowledge of all departments, the Resort and its amenities
Job Duties
- Adhere to all mandatory standards of operations, policies and procedures, and manuals
- Meet or exceed weekly, quarterly and annual sales goals, targets and initiatives
- Develop, actively solicit, and map group business accounts per defined territory
- Maintain a complete database of accounts in defined territories
- Identify and qualify potential prospects through telemarketing, trade-shows, sales blitzes and other sales initiatives
- Maximize outcome of all sales initiatives by following up on leads and clients to identify additional business opportunities
- Follow all Group Sales Standards of Operation and policies and procedures including generating and completing necessary forms and correspondence
- Properly convey rate and package information within approved limits to maximize and protect overall resort revenue yields
- Perform in a professional manner demonstrating the philosophies of The Power of One and Omni Hotels
- Maintain customer relations, trade relations, industry relations and staff relations
- Promote all Omni Properties and cross sell the brand including memberships and other relationships available at participating resorts
- Work closely with Convention Services and Reservation Sales to ensure details are communicated for successful meetings
- Perform other tasks as needed for effective Resort operation
- Book groups of 10-40 rooms on peak nights
- Book wedding blocks of 10-75 rooms
- Participate in development training and sales meetings
- Submit SMART Plans & Development Goals, and Market Place Action Plans yearly
