Job Description
Six Flags New England is a premier amusement park located in Agawam, Massachusetts, known for providing thrilling rides, entertaining shows, and memorable experiences for families and thrill-seekers. As part of the larger Six Flags entertainment brand, Six Flags New England offers a dynamic and vibrant working environment centered around guest satisfaction, safety, and high-quality service. The park hosts a wide range of group events, corporate outings, youth programs, and special marketing and sponsorship activities, reinforcing its status as a top destination for entertainment and leisure.
The role of Event Assistant at Six Flags New England is pivotal to the flawless execution and coordination of group sales, marketing initiatives, and sponsorship events within the park. This position involves managing the logistics of post-contract reservations, underlining the importance of exceptional client service and operational excellence. Starting at $18.00 per hour, the Event Assistant works closely with various park departments, clients, and the sales team to ensure that every event runs smoothly from start to finish.
As an Event Assistant, you'll lead day-of-event execution for various group activities including corporate outings and youth programs. You will oversee support teams on-site and be responsive to client needs, playing a crucial role in the success of each event. This role also requires active involvement in sponsorship activations and marketing events, with an emphasis on maintaining in-park visibility in line with national and regional promotional agreements. Documenting event outcomes and providing detailed recaps is essential to this position, allowing the department to track performance and client satisfaction.
The Event Assistant serves as a vital hub of communication between park personnel and external clients, ensuring that all parties are aligned and that the event areas are prepared, clean, and safe. A key part of the job involves clerical functions such as managing email and phone correspondence with groups exceeding 100 participants, handling sales materials, ordering tickets, invoicing, and ensuring payment receipt is properly managed.
Maintaining accurate client files and records, assisting with database management, and troubleshooting issues within the sales process are fundamental responsibilities. The role also involves enforcing park policies and aiding in other departmental areas as needed. Because of the variety of duties, this position demands a flexible schedule, including availability evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical requirements such as standing for long periods, walking long distances, lifting, and working at heights must also be met, with accommodations available when required.
Overall, the Event Assistant at Six Flags New England is integral to delivering high-quality events that enhance customer experiences and promote the park's brand. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working with diverse teams, and are committed to outstanding client service and operational success.
