Job Description
Greystar is a premier global real estate platform widely recognized for its comprehensive expertise in property management, investment management, development, and construction services, specializing in institutional-quality rental housing. Founded in 1993 by Bob Faith and headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina, Greystar has grown to be the largest operator of apartments in the United States, managing and operating a diverse portfolio that encompasses over one million units and beds globally, across more than 260 markets worldwide. With offices strategically located throughout North America, Europe, South America, and the Asia-Pacific region, Greystar maintains a significant presence and continues to expand its influence in the real estate sector.
The company's assets under management total nearly $79 billion, including over $34 billion in development assets and over $36.5 billion in regulatory assets. This extensive portfolio highlights Greystar’s leadership in the industry and commitment to providing high-quality living environments and investment opportunities across varied markets worldwide.
The role at hand is based in Charlotte, North Carolina, at a stabilized garden-style community named Strawberry Hill, consisting of 581 units. This position is a key part of the physical maintenance team responsible for ensuring the community’s grounds, amenities, and overall curb appeal meet Greystar's rigorous standards. Scheduled from Monday to Friday, the role offers an hourly wage range of $19.00 to $22.00, supplemented by potential bonus opportunities dependent on company and individual performance.
As a maintenance team member, the incumbent will be actively engaged in maintaining the appearance and functionality of the property, which includes daily inspections, litter and debris removal, trash management in vacant units, and basic service requests. The role also involves supporting the make-ready process, changing locks per policy, and ensuring safety standards, particularly around pool areas. Customer service is a significant component, requiring respectful and sensitive interaction with residents while addressing maintenance-related inquiries or concerns.
Physical demands of the job include the ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb ladders, carry objects up to 25 pounds independently, and work effectively in various weather conditions. Flexibility in work hours, including availability for call duties during evenings, weekends, and holidays, is essential. Candidates must hold a valid driver’s license to operate golf carts on the property.
Greystar places a strong emphasis on safety and compliance, necessitating participation in regular safety meetings and training related to OSHA and other regulations. This role offers comprehensive benefits for full-time employees, including competitive medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance, generous paid time off, onsite housing discounts, a 401(k) plan with company match, paid parental leave, and additional wellness and support programs.
Overall, this role within Greystar is a vital contributor to maintaining high living standards in one of the country’s largest residential property portfolios, offering growth opportunities and a supportive work environment within a leading global real estate organization.
