Founded in 1993 by Bob Faith and headquartered in Charleston, South Carolina, Greystar has grown to become not only one of the largest operators of apartments in the United States but also a key global player in the property management industry. Managing more than $300 billion of real estate spanning over 265 markets worldwide, Greystar currently operates with offices throughout North America, Europe, South America, and the Asia-Pacific region. With nearly $79 billion in assets under management, including substantial development and regulatory asset segments, the company exemplifies a strong commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainable growth in rental residential real estate.

The role of a Community Maintenance Technician at Greystar is a vital one, focused on maintaining the physical appearance, safety, and functionality of the residential communities under the company’s management. This position emphasizes maintaining high standards regarding community grounds, ensuring amenities are in excellent condition, and enhancing overall curb appeal to foster resident satisfaction and community pride. The position involves supporting service team members through inspecting the property regularly for cleanliness and safety, responding to minor service requests, and assisting with apartment turnover processes.

This hourly role offers competitive wages ranging from $15.00 to $16.00 and may include eligibility for various bonuses based on business and individual performance, reflecting Greystar’s commitment to rewarding dedication and excellence. The maintenance technician will play an essential role in ensuring Greystar-managed communities are safe, clean, and inviting, directly contributing to exceptional resident experiences. The position requires physical stamina and flexibility to work under varying weather conditions and the ability to manage multiple tasks including trash removal, lock changes, and hazard identification.

In addition to the hands-on aspects of maintenance and upkeep, this position demands strong customer service skills where residents are treated with respect and queries or complaints are handled sensitively and effectively. The maintenance technician is also expected to adhere to Greystar’s comprehensive safety and risk-management protocols, which involve attending routine safety meetings and complying fully with OSHA regulations. This commitment ensures not only an attractive and well-maintained community but also a safe environment for residents, guests, and team members alike.

Overall, a Community Maintenance Technician at Greystar is a key contributor to the company's mission of providing world-class service within the rental residential real estate sector. With robust benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, generous paid time off, retirement plans with company match, and much more, Greystar not only invests in its communities but also its employees.
