Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least one year of groundskeeping or related maintenance experience preferred
- Ability to perform physical labor including lifting, shoveling and long periods of standing or walking
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Must have basic English communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive required vehicles based on property needs
- Ability to use digital devices for work order management
- Availability to work flexible hours including snow removal shifts
- Commitment to maintaining safety standards and compliance with Fair Housing laws
Job Qualifications
- Ability to communicate in English orally and understand written and oral instructions
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
- May require a valid driver’s license
- Ability to drive a motor vehicle, mini-truck, under-speed vehicles and utility vehicles depending on property requirements
Job Duties
- Walk the property daily to remove trash from grounds including front and rear of buildings, breezeways, parking lots, playground, drain basin edges and behind fence lines
- Clean around all dumpsters
- Perform landscaping tasks such as raking, mulching, weeding and watering
- Conduct snow and ice removal including shoveling steps, sidewalks and walkways and applying ice melt
- Maintain common areas by emptying trash containers daily, cleaning and polishing lighting fixtures, surfaces and trim
- Clean rugs, carpets, furniture, draperies and blinds
- Replenish supplies in bathrooms and laundry rooms
- Clean laundry rooms daily by emptying trashcans, wiping down machines, sweeping and mopping floors
- Use digital device to review, update and manage work orders and inspections
- Document all tasks as work orders
- Ensure a safe work environment by reporting safety concerns and hazards
- Adhere strictly to Fair Housing laws and regulations
- Attend staff meetings and maintain professional conduct and appearance
- Assist staff with other tasks and perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor
