Job Description

Sodexo is a global leader in integrated facilities management and food services, dedicated to creating a better everyday for everyone. With a presence in numerous countries, Sodexo partners with a diverse range of clients to deliver exceptional services that enhance the quality of life and contribute to social, economic, and environmental progress. Their dedication to inclusion and respect for individual differences fosters a workplace culture where employees can thrive, be themselves, and have their voices heard. At their Oral Roberts University location, Sodexo offers a dynamic work environment that emphasizes teamwork, safety, and professional growth, ensuring employees feel valued and supported. The company provides a full range of benefits, competitive compensation, and opportunities for advancement, making it an attractive employer for those looking to build a career in facilities management and landscaping services.

The full-time Groundskeeper position at Sodexo, based at Oral Roberts University, plays a vital role in maintaining the outdoor spaces and landscapes of the property. The role involves a responsibility to ensure that grounds are well-kept, safe, and visually appealing, using a variety of manual and power tools. Scheduled for weekday morning shifts, this position offers a steady pay rate of $15.00 per hour and presents an excellent opportunity for individuals with horticultural experience who take pride in outdoor work. Groundskeepers are expected to perform a mix of tasks such as mowing, trimming, edging, planting, watering, fertilizing, and managing irrigation systems. Additional duties may include sweeping sidewalks and parking lots, snow and ice management, and setting up sports fields. This diversity of responsibilities demands a versatile, adaptable, and safety-conscious individual with good problem-solving skills.

Sodexo looks for candidates who bring at least 1 to 2 years of related experience and horticultural training, along with the necessary licenses for pesticide/herbicide application and potentially heavy equipment operation. A valid driver’s license is required due to the nature of the role and equipment transportation. Beyond technical skills, the ideal candidate is team-oriented, reliable, and committed to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment. The role requires punctuality and a consistent presence during scheduled shifts, reinforcing the importance of discipline and dependability.

Working at Sodexo not only means contributing to the upkeep of a beautiful campus but also being part of a company that values work-life balance. Employees benefit from flexible schedules designed to accommodate personal priorities, ongoing training and development programs, and a comprehensive benefits package. This package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, holidays, tuition reimbursement, and a 401k retirement plan. Some locations may provide additional perks such as free shift meals, uniforms, safety footwear, and transportation support. Sodexo’s commitment to equality and diversity ensures a respectful and inclusive environment, making this Groundskeeper role more than just a job—it is an invitation to grow within a respected global organization dedicated to improving everyday life for its employees and the community.
