Job Description
The Hudson is a well-established residential community known for its commitment to providing a clean, safe, and pleasant living environment for its residents. As a trusted property managed by Drucker + Falk, The Hudson offers a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere enhanced by well-maintained grounds and common areas. The community places a high priority on resident satisfaction and maintaining the aesthetic appeal of its premises through dedicated staff and comprehensive upkeep programs. Situated in an accessible location, The Hudson caters to a diverse group of residents who value both comfort and convenience in their home setting.
At The Hudson, we are currently seeking a dedicated Groundskeeper/Porter to join our maintenance team. This role is essential in ensuring that all community areas, including offices, models, the clubhouse, lobbies, laundry rooms, common areas, and the grounds, are consistently maintained to meet our high standards. The Groundskeeper/Porter plays a vital role in supporting the overall maintenance and appearance of the property by performing cleaning duties, grounds maintenance, and routine inspections with safety as a top priority. Scheduled weekend hours involve rotating shifts focused on trash pick-up between 10 AM and 3 PM, ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of the environment outside normal weekday hours.
The position involves a range of responsibilities from routine cleaning and grounds care to collaboration with supervisors and management to ensure that all maintenance needs are promptly addressed. The successful candidate will be responsible for cleaning vacant apartments and common areas daily, policing the grounds for debris and hazards, and reporting any defects or deficiencies to the maintenance superintendent or property manager. Accurate record-keeping and supply management through appropriate channels are also integral parts of the job, supporting operational efficiency without excess inventory.
Working conditions for the Groundskeeper/Porter include tasks performed both indoors and outdoors, often in varying weather conditions, including temperatures below 32 degrees Fahrenheit and above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The role demands physical stamina and the ability to handle a variety of manual tasks such as lifting and moving heavy items (up to 100 pounds), standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and handling tools safely. Familiarity or experience with maintenance work is considered beneficial for this position.
This role not only demands dedication to cleanliness and grounds upkeep but also requires excellent interpersonal skills to maintain positive resident relations and effectively communicate with the maintenance team and property management. The Groundskeeper/Porter will perform additional duties as assigned, contributing to the seamless operation of The Hudson community.
The Hudson values its employees and offers a comprehensive benefits package including outstanding growth potential, paid sick leave, vacation, holidays, health insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and 401K participation, demonstrating a commitment to employee welfare and job satisfaction. Our workplace is drug-free and equal opportunity is a cornerstone of our hiring process, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive work environment. Join The Hudson and become part of a team dedicated to excellence in residential community maintenance and resident care, where your work makes a tangible difference in the lives of the people who call The Hudson home.
