The Grill Cook position at JOEY Restaurants is a highly skilled role vital to maintaining the consistency and exceptional standards that guests expect. This role is hourly, ranging between $20.00 and $28.00 per hour, and includes eligibility to participate in the company tip pool which can provide an average additional income between $5.00 and $12.00 per hour. The Grill Cook is a multi-tasker responsible for utilizing various cooking techniques to quickly and precisely prepare menu items according to JOEY’s recipes and specifications. The role demands attention to detail to uphold food quality and consistency while ensuring a clean, sanitary, and safe kitchen environment. The Grill Cook works closely with other stations to coordinate preparation and cooking duties, maintaining hygiene and safety standards, reporting equipment issues promptly, and completing opening, side, and closing tasks. A passion for hospitality, a fast-paced work ethic, and physical stamina to stand, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds are essential for success in this role. Job Requirements

  • Must have or be able to obtain valid local and/or state Food Handler and California Responsible Beverage Service certifications
  • Be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and stretching
  • Repetitive manual tasks
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs

Job Duties

  • Utilize various preparation and cooking methods to ensure the quick, precise creation of our menu items in accordance with JOEY recipes
  • Coordinate with other stations as needed
  • Maintain prep and cooking areas in a clean, sanitary, and safe manner
  • Complete assigned opening, side work, and closing duties to set your team up for success
  • Follow all instructions and guidelines for safe usage of kitchen equipment and cleaning compounds
  • Report equipment problems and maintenance issues to leadership immediately
  • Follow all food service and handling safety precautions and procedures
