Currently, Creative Dining Services at Brose Tuscaloosa is seeking a full-time Grill Cook for the third shift. This position is scheduled from Sunday through Thursday, 10:00 pm to 6:00 am, with some overtime opportunities available, offering a stable and consistent work schedule. The role is pivotal within the kitchen team, responsible for ensuring that high-quality, properly seasoned, and nutritious food is consistently produced and served throughout the operation.
The Grill Cook is tasked with timing food production to align perfectly with service hours, preparing menu items following established recipes to preserve freshness and appeal, and utilizing batch cooking methods to prevent overproduction or shortages. This role demands meticulous attention to food storage guidelines, including correct labeling and dating, and maintaining food at optimal temperatures for safety and quality. Accurate production records must be maintained, documenting food usage, overages, shortages, and customer counts to support inventory and operational efficiency.

Job Requirements

- prior experience in food preparation or cooking preferred
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations
- ability to work night shifts Sunday through Thursday 10:00 pm to 6:00 am

Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience as a grill cook or in a similar kitchen role preferred
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties
- Time food production such that all food is ready at the time of service
- prepare food items according to established recipes and menus in a manner in which preserves food freshness, quality and appeal
- utilize batch cooking techniques to avoid over or under production
- store food items according to established standards of practice
- utilize proper labeling and dating
- hold prepared food items at appropriate temperatures (below 40 degrees if cold, above 135 degrees if hot)
- maintain production records (food usage, overages, shortages, customer counts, etc.)
- follow established work rules and regulations
- ready for work in the kitchen, in uniform, at the scheduled time
- putting away/pulling stock as needed
