Job Requirements

  • grill cook experience required
  • ability to work flexible full-time or part-time evening shifts
  • capacity to perform physical tasks related to job such as carrying food containers
  • adherence to food safety and sanitation standards
  • willingness to attend safety and in-service meetings
  • ability to resolve customer concerns professionally
  • must be able to work in an educational facility environment

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior grill cook experience required
  • knowledge of inventory management and supervisory experience considered a plus
  • ability to follow established recipes and food safety standards
  • strong customer service skills
  • ability to work flexible shifts including evenings
  • good communication and teamwork skills
  • ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • physical ability to carry pans, kettles, and trays
  • capacity to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

  • takes orders from customers and prepares items requiring short preparation
  • completes orders from steam tables and serves customers at multiple stations
  • serves customers efficiently and friendly following established steps of service
  • ensures food is at correct temperature and is attractive and tasty
  • tastes all prepared food items to maintain quality
  • follows ticket-collection procedures during service
  • maintains records from area worked during service periods
  • uses approved recipes and production standards for quality, serving temperatures, and portion control
  • carries pans, kettles, and trays safely according to standards
  • stores foods properly following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures
  • cleans, sanitizes, and maintains assigned work areas, equipment and utensils
  • resolves customer concerns and reports important information to supervisor
  • attends in-service and safety meetings
  • maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers
  • performs job safely while maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • performs other duties as assigned
