Job Description
Grand Casino Hotel & Resort is a premier hospitality destination known for its vibrant casino, luxurious accommodations, and top-notch dining experiences. Located in a strategic area, the resort offers guests a blend of entertainment, relaxation, and high-quality service. The organization prides itself on maintaining a welcoming environment that caters to a diverse clientele from all parts of the country and world. As a leader in the hospitality industry, Grand Casino Hotel & Resort focuses on delivering excellent customer service and a memorable guest experience through its various departments, including Food and Beverage, where dedicated staff play a key role in its success.
The role of Waitstaff/Server at Grand Casino Hotel & Resort is integral to ensuring that every guest receives exceptional dining service within the casino's lively atmosphere. This position offers both full-time and part-time employment opportunities, providing flexibility to meet different scheduling needs. Non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the position starts at an hourly rate of $7.25. Full-time employees also benefit from comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance plans, with reasonable biweekly employee contributions depending on the coverage choice.
As a Waitstaff/Server, your primary responsibilities include accurately taking and processing food and beverage orders, describing menu items, and explaining preparation methods for special dishes. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of your workstation is essential, alongside ensuring all product levels are appropriately stocked, particularly at the salad bar and dessert carousel. Professional appearance and courteous interaction with guests are mandatory, reflecting the resort's commitment to quality service. Importantly, candidates must provide proof of a liquor license or receipt of application by the first day of employment, as possession of this license is a condition of employment.
The position requires knowledge of public health and hygiene standards, including proper hand-washing and infection control techniques to maintain a safe dining environment. Employees must be trained to identify appropriate greeting protocols and demonstrate awareness of sterilization methods for dining ware. This role involves working under the supervision of the Food and Beverage Manager, following established procedures and guidelines with occasional independent problem-solving abilities.
As part of a dynamic team, the Waitstaff/Server will contribute significantly to creating a welcoming and enjoyable experience for guests, ensuring their satisfaction and encouraging repeat visits. The job environment simulates a typical restaurant setting within the casino, demanding physical stamina to stand or sit for extended periods, manage lifting of up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive motions such as bending and stooping. The role also requires excellent communication skills and availability to work during nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the hospitality industry's demands.
This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a role in a reputable casino resort, offering hands-on experience in food service, opportunities for professional development, and the chance to be part of a recognized brand in the hospitality sector. The organization emphasizes a respectful and team-oriented work environment, ensuring that all employees are equipped with the necessary knowledge and tools to succeed in delivering outstanding customer service.
