The role of a General Utility Worker at Aramark is designed for self-motivated individuals who take pride in their work and wish to build a solid foundation within the food service industry. This entry-level position plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation standards of kitchens, dining areas, equipment, and utensils. The General Utility Worker is responsible for ensuring that all dishes, pots, pans, silverware, glasses, and kitchen tools are properly cleaned to meet health and safety regulations. Maintaining the dishwashing station and related sink areas in an orderly and hygienic condition is essential. Additionally, this position involves performing basic maintenance and custodial duties, ensuring that equipment is functioning correctly, and promptly reporting any malfunctions to management.

The role demands a positive customer service attitude, adherence to Aramark's stringent safety policies including food safety and sanitation guidelines, and a commitment to safeguarding company assets. Flexibility is important as the position may require working evening and weekend shifts, and candidates must be able to handle physical tasks such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking and standing. Job Requirements

  • Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to follow basic safety procedures
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, walking and standing for extended periods
  • Willingness to wear uniforms and use personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required

Job Duties

  • Ensure guest satisfaction by maintaining all dishes, pots, pans, silverware, glasses, equipment, and kitchen utensils are cleaned and sanitized
  • Maintains dishwashing station, three compartment sink and related areas cleaned
  • Ensures equipment is clean and in working condition
  • Reports any issues to management
  • Performs other light maintenance and custodial tasks
  • Maintains excellent customer service and positive attitude towards guest, customers, clients, co-workers
  • Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation
  • Ensures security of company assets
