Job Description
Gregorys Coffee is a well-established family-run coffee company that prioritizes its people and community. Known for their dedication to excellence, Gregorys Coffee has built a reputation for serving superior quality coffee and providing a welcoming environment for every guest. With a culture centered on respect, development, and the pursuit of making everyday special, the company fosters a vibrant team atmosphere where each employee is valued and motivated. Gregorys Coffee not only aims to serve excellent beverages but also create memorable guest experiences that encourage return visits and strong community relationships.
The Store Leader position available at Gregorys Coffee's upcoming Paramus location is a pivotal role essential to the company's continued growth and success. As a Store Leader, you will be tasked with the direct oversight of daily store operations, ensuring that each aspect of service, quality, and cleanliness aligns with the company's high standards. This role is hands-on, requiring someone who leads by example and is deeply involved in all facets of the store's functioning. The Store Leader serves as the primary manager responsible for operational excellence, financial performance, human resource concerns, and fostering a positive work environment.
This position demands a leader who is passionate about people development, coaching, and mentorship. The Store Leader ensures that all employees are onboarded effectively, trained consistently, and supported in their growth. They conduct evaluations, identify talent with leadership potential, and deliver ongoing education on coffee, food, and service knowledge. Additionally, the Store Leader champions the operational execution of daily tasks, menu rollouts, health department standards, and cleanliness to guarantee a safe and inviting space for both guests and staff.
Service standards are a major focus, with the Store Leader leading the charge in delivering five-star guest experiences. They work alongside their team to cultivate a customer-first mindset, proactively resolve customer issues, and build meaningful relationships, including connecting with regular patrons known as Gregulars. They also engage in grassroots marketing efforts, building customer databases and encouraging positive reviews across platforms like Yelp, Google, and company apps.
Facilities and maintenance fall under the Store Leader's purview as well, ensuring all equipment is clean, serviced, and functioning properly. They organize regular deep cleaning sessions and quickly address any significant repair issues that could disrupt business. The role also requires astute management of HR practices, including compliance with labor laws, employee relations, coaching, and disciplinary actions when necessary, all performed with fairness and documented appropriately.
From a financial standpoint, the Store Leader carefully manages sales, labor costs, and cost of goods sold to meet or exceed performance targets. They leverage data to create efficient staff schedules and oversee payroll and cash handling procedures meticulously. Inventory management is also critical to maintain optimal product availability without exceeding budgeted costs.
Given the varied and demanding nature of this leadership role, the Store Leader's schedule is flexible and driven by business needs. This includes working early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays to support the store and team effectively. Communication with district and multi-unit leaders is crucial to ensure alignment on goals and ongoing strategies. Embracing and living by Gregorys Coffee's 12 Leadership Principles, the Store Leader also participates actively in company events and motivates their team to do the same.
Becoming a Store Leader at Gregorys Coffee means joining a passionate and supportive team in a thriving coffee company committed to excellence and community. This role offers an opportunity to grow your leadership skills, influence a dynamic workplace culture, and contribute directly to the success of a beloved brand with a meaningful mission.
