We are currently seeking an experienced General Manager to lead one of our bustling restaurant locations. This full-time leadership role demands a dynamic and proactive individual to manage the daily operations efficiently while inspiring and developing a large team of employees. The General Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the restaurant, from staffing and scheduling to inventory control and guest satisfaction. Reporting directly to the Regional Director, the General Manager will have final decision-making authority over operational matters and will be responsible for maintaining the restaurant's image, cleanliness, and compliance with safety standards. Furthermore, you will control costs by minimizing waste and optimizing labor, food, beverage, and supply expenses. Strong leadership skills are essential, as you will be responsible for coaching, developing, and evaluating employees to foster a cooperative and motivated work environment. The role also requires a hands-on approach, as you may need to step in to cover shifts or respond to emergencies.

Job Requirements

  • 5 years of high volume restaurant experience preferred
  • BA or BS degree in hotel or restaurant management is desirable
  • Ability to manage daily restaurant operations effectively

  • Knowledge of computer applications such as MS Word and Excel
  • Capable of handling physical demands including prolonged standing and lifting up to 45 pounds

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in hotel or restaurant management or related field

Job Duties

  • Commit to passionately, intensely, uncompromisingly humble hospitality and high-quality guest experience
  • Oversee and manage all areas of the restaurant and make final decisions on matters of importance to the guest experience
  • Manage shifts including daily decision making, scheduling, planning while upholding standards, product quality and cleanliness
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date plan of restaurant staffing needs
  • Prepare schedules and ensure that the restaurant is staffed for all shifts
  • Handle the pressures of simultaneously coordinating a wide range of activities and recommend appropriate solutions to problems
  • Adhere to company standards and service levels to increase sales and minimize costs, including food, beverage, supply, utility and labor costs
  • Maintain the restaurant image including cleanliness, proper uniforms, appearance and atmosphere
  • Keep Regional Director promptly informed of all issues and take corrective action where necessary
  • Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce risk of injury and accidents
  • Maintain a favorable working relationship with employees to promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate
  • Complete accident reports promptly if a guest or employee is injured
  • Run successfully high-volume stores
  • Estimate food and beverage costs for efficient provisioning and purchasing
  • Help create systems, structure, and tools to support growth
  • Exhibit entrepreneurial spirit by contributing ideas
  • Lead, teach, coach and develop a large team
  • Interview and hire hourly employees
  • Direct hiring, supervision, development and termination of employees
  • Ensure positive guest service in all areas
  • Respond to complaints and take appropriate actions to secure return guests
  • Share a love of great food and drinks
