Burger King, a globally recognized fast-food restaurant chain, is seeking a dynamic General Manager (GM) to join its team in Mt Cobb. As General Manager, you will lead the restaurant’s management team in overseeing daily operations across all shifts, including financial controls, people development, and customer service. Your infectious enthusiasm and urgency in delivering great experiences will set the tone for the entire team. The role demands the ability to work long or irregular shifts, remain calm under pressure, and ensure that all aspects of the restaurant meet or exceed company standards. Leadership is key, with a focus on motivating employees to provide prompt, courteous service and maintaining a well-staffed, customer-focused operation.
You will be responsible for ensuring the facility is consistently 'inspection ready' in food preparation, cleanliness, and guest contact areas, complying with Department of Health and internal company standards. Daily safety inspections and emergency protocols will be critical in maintaining a safe environment for customers, employees, and vendors. Upkeeping food safety includes enforcing sanitary practices, maintaining kitchen and dining cleanliness, supervising portion control to minimize waste, and ensuring compliance with ServSafe guidelines.
Inventory management will be a crucial part of your duties, guaranteeing adequate stock levels to meet anticipated demand without overstocking, adhering to company standards for product display and inventory procedures. Your entrepreneurial approach will drive sales growth and cost reduction, with keen attention to labor budgets, cash controls, and controllable expenses that impact profitability.
Operational excellence is expected, with full compliance to brand standards, safety, and cleanliness, passing all audits and inspections, and setting and achieving sales goals and forecasts. Additionally, you will foster community involvement by promoting strong restaurant and personnel engagement with local initiatives. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a General Manager or similar role in the food service industry
- ServSafe certification
- Ability to work long and/or irregular shifts including extra shifts
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and effective in a hectic environment
- Commitment to safety and quality standards
Job Qualifications
- Experience in managing a fast-food or quick-service restaurant
- Leadership skills with ability to motivate and guide teams
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards including ServSafe certification
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Ability to handle financial controls including budgeting and inventory management
