The Palm Court General Manager role at The Plaza offers an exceptional career path for professionals passionate about luxury hospitality and food and beverage management. Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage, this full-time permanent position involves overseeing the daily management and operation of multiple luxury dining concepts including luxury mixology, wine services, and the distinguished afternoon tea experience. Key responsibilities include managing sales and cost controls, maintaining quality production standards, and ensuring sanitation and cleanliness in both front and back of house operations. The General Manager drives employee satisfaction and maintains effective employee relations while balancing staffing needs with sales demands. Additionally, this role involves developing and implementing training programs, conducting interviews and performance coaching, and creating promotional strategies to enhance the visibility and profitability of the venues.

Job Requirements
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- degree in hotel and restaurant management preferred or equivalent operational experience
- minimum of 5 years experience in a senior food and beverage management role
- proficient in Microsoft Windows applications and social media platforms
- strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- thorough knowledge of food and beverage products and industry trends
- excellent communication skills and fluency in English
- ability to manage and lead a diverse team
- understanding of labor union agreements an asset
Job Qualifications
- Degree in hotel and restaurant management preferred or equivalent operational experience
- minimum of 5 years experience as department head, restaurant director of operations or general manager
- computer literate in Microsoft Windows applications and social media
- strong leadership skills
- strong knowledge of food and beverage product and current industry trends
- excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- fluent in English, second language an asset
- solid understanding of Local 6 Union CBA an asset
Job Duties
- Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
- manage the day to day function of all restaurant leaders and employees, facilities, sales, and costs
- control and analyze luxury level mixology, wine, and afternoon tea concepts

- conduct interviewing, hiring, orientation, training, coaching and counseling
- develop and implement formal training programs and annual training calendar
- produce and implement creative promotional programs to boost sales and visibility
