The General Manager role within Shaner Hotels is a pivotal leadership position designed for individuals passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences while driving operational success. This full-time, mid-senior level position is based in Ohio markets and offers a competitive salary along with an exceptional benefits package. The General Manager will lead the day-to-day operations of one or more full-service or lifestyle hotels, working closely with all department heads to ensure consistency with Shaner Hotels’ high standards and franchise requirements. Key responsibilities include overseeing food and beverage operations, maintaining safety and quality control, managing employee performance, and ensuring the completion of daily operational procedures throughout the hotel. This position requires a flexible work schedule, including availability for weekends, holidays, and varied shifts to meet the dynamic demands of the hospitality environment.

Candidates for this role must be energetic and service-oriented with a strong leadership ability capable of motivating, training, and coaching staff to achieve peak performance and exceptional guest service. The General Manager will handle guest relations, resolve operational issues, and foster communication across departments to maintain the highest level of service quality. Additionally, travel to various Ohio hotel locations is expected as part of the responsibilities. Preferably, candidates will bring at least two years of relevant experience in a similar management capacity along with a college degree or equivalent. Proficiency in front desk, accounting, human resources, and other operational protocols is essential. Bilingual skills, specifically English and Spanish, are an asset for effective communication within diverse teams and with guests. Job Requirements

  • Availability to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts
  • Willingness to travel to multiple hotel locations as needed

Job Duties

  • Ensure compliance with and completion of all daily operational procedures by the Food and Beverage Department
  • Maintain food and beverage safety and quality based on hotel, Shaner, and franchise specifications
  • Establish, maintain, and train standards and procedures for operations and safe working conditions in the department
  • Respond to and handle guest related issues pertaining to the department
  • Communicate effectively with General Manager, Department Managers, Supervisors, and Staff
  • Assist in managing all aspects of employee performance to ensure productivity and a quality work environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
