Job Description
Schulte Hospitality Group (SHG) is a prominent division of Schulte Companies, a respected third-party management organization with extensive multi-generational expertise in diverse areas of the hospitality industry. The group is a vibrant and dynamic part of the hospitality sector, operating more than 200 locations spread across 38 states and 3 countries. Their portfolio is wide-ranging and includes a mix of well-known hospitality brands such as Marriott, Hilton, IHG, and Hyatt, along with numerous unique, independent, boutique, and lifestyle properties and restaurants. Their reputation is built on a solid foundation of service excellence, innovation, and a commitment to authentic hospitality that resonates deeply with both staff and guests.
Schulte Hospitality Group’s mission centers on delivering outstanding hospitality grounded in respect, authenticity, and prioritizing the needs of their stakeholders. Their growing team consists of passionate hoteliers and restauranteurs dedicated to service culture, ensuring a positive impact in every facet of their operations. By fostering a culture where service is central, SHG continually drives long-term success, employee engagement, and guest satisfaction.
The role of General Manager within Schulte Hospitality Group is a critical leadership position responsible for overseeing the overall operation and performance of the property under their management. This position demands a highly organized, strategic, and service-oriented professional who will manage budgets, control expenditures, maintain detailed financial and statistical records, and drive sales and profitability. The General Manager will lead recruitment, training, and the professional development of staff members, while also coordinating effective work schedules and ensuring a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all guests and employees.
Key daily responsibilities include managing finances, meeting sales targets, addressing and resolving guest concerns, troubleshooting operational issues, and ensuring smooth execution of events and conferences. Another vital aspect of this position is asset preservation—overseeing maintenance, renovations, supplies, and furnishings to maintain the property’s high standards. The General Manager also cultivates and maintains strong working relationships with contractors, vendors, and suppliers. Ensuring compliance with brand guidelines, service standards, and all regulatory requirements — including licensing laws, health and safety regulations — is essential.
Ideal candidates will possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong leadership capabilities to motivate and guide teams effectively. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking environment are critical for success. This role requires a balanced combination of financial acumen, strategic thinking, and a genuine passion for delivering exceptional hospitality experiences.
Joining Schulte Hospitality Group means becoming part of a progressive, employee-focused environment that values diversity, inclusivity, and professional growth. The company invests in its team members by providing comprehensive benefits, continuous development opportunities, and an empowering workplace culture. The General Manager will have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the company's mission and be part of a team dedicated to having a positive and lasting impact on the hospitality industry.
