Job Description
Hotel Tristan is an exciting new boutique lifestyle hotel located in the East Garden District of Pensacola, Florida. Set to open in early summer, Hotel Tristan is designed to blend the rich historic character of Pensacola with modern hospitality trends, creating a unique and elevated guest experience. Inspired by the legacy of explorer Tristan de Luna, the hotel will offer a vibrant retreat for leisure travelers, event attendees, and destination-driven guests looking to enjoy the walkable downtown area. Featuring 121 guest rooms, the property is positioned as a key addition to Pensacola's growing hospitality and tourism landscape, aiming to set new standards for comfort, service, and local charm. Hotel Tristan is part of the Tandem Hospitality Group portfolio, a company known for its hands-on, operator-led management approach focusing on boutique hotels and chef-driven restaurants. Tandem Hospitality Group values a culture rooted in ownership, accountability, and transparency and empowers its leaders to think like business owners and foster growth, performance, and team connection.
The General Manager role at Hotel Tristan is a critical leadership position responsible for the overall success and operational execution of the hotel. This full-time, exempt position reports directly to the Regional Director of Operations and requires a dynamic leader capable of managing multiple departments including Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Sales & Marketing, and Engineering. The General Manager will lead the pre-opening and operational phases of the hotel, ensuring alignment with brand standards and company goals. This involves driving financial performance through budget management, revenue generation, and cost controls, while also guaranteeing exceptional guest experiences. The role demands a balance of strategic vision and hands-on management, involving daily performance monitoring, team coaching, and operational oversight.
Key responsibilities include defining and executing operational procedures, managing labor and scheduling, partnering with sales and revenue teams on pricing strategies, and maintaining regulatory compliance and safety standards. The General Manager ensures a cohesive team environment by mentoring department leaders and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence. Property maintenance and preventative engineering measures also fall under this role, alongside overseeing inventory management and conducting regular property inspections. Excellent communication skills and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic hospitality environment are essential for success. The successful candidate will also demonstrate proficiency in hotel management systems and have a strong financial acumen encompassing budgeting, forecasting, and profit and loss management. This opportunity offers a chance to shape the foundation of a boutique lifestyle hotel while advancing a career in hospitality leadership within a supportive and inclusive company culture.
