The General Manager role at the new Home2 Suites in Springfield represents a remarkable opportunity for an experienced and energetic hospitality professional to lead this fresh and modern hotel from its inception. This position involves the unique chance to build a dedicated team, establish a service culture that embodies excellence, and drive operational and financial success from day one. This leadership role requires a hands-on manager with strong leadership skills and a solid background in sales and revenue management, essential to driving the business forward in a competitive market. The General Manager will be responsible for all aspects of hotel operations, including pre-opening preparation, staff hiring and training, establishing sales programs, maintaining brand standards, and ensuring superior guest satisfaction.
This is a full-time position that expects the General Manager to work a minimum of 50 hours weekly, including possible weekend and holiday work with a rotational schedule alongside the Assistant General Manager. Job Requirements

Job Duties
- Complete the pre-opening tasks prior to opening the hotel
- Hire an AGM whom you will be training on all aspects of the hotel
- Work a minimum of 50 hours per week
- Put together a sales program and lead an effort to drive business to our hotel
- Follow up with staff to ensure they are providing superior guest service and meeting or exceeding quality standards
- Ensure property is maintained to the high standards of the brand, the management company and ownership
- Monitor cleanliness of property and product
- Recruit, interview, and train team members that fit the brand
- Monitor, evaluate, and improve employee training programs
- Develop rewards program for personnel for advancement within the organization
- Monitor cost controls to maximize profit
- Advise ownership of all issues requiring guidance and approval
- Generate new and repeat business through sales and marketing activities and meet with potential and current clients to promote the property
- Lead, direct and manage all hotel operations including budgeting and forecasting, strategic planning, service initiatives, balanced scorecard performance, policy compliance, sales and marketing initiatives, executive team development, guest inquiries and concerns resolution, and hotel-wide meeting participation
- Ensure guest and team member satisfaction and increase scores
- Oversee service quality, operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, standards compliance and service and financial measurements
- Identify operational performance, productivity and efficiency gaps and implement corrective measures
- Serve as primary liaison with hotel owners and corporate entities
