Located in Nashville, Tennessee, this company prioritizes a calmer and more thoughtful environment for both dogs and their owners. The position available is for an experienced General Manager to open and lead the newest Yardstick location in Franklin, TN. This role requires a hands-on leader who is passionate about growth, enjoys building and nurturing effective teams, and is motivated by taking ownership and responsibility. The General Manager will oversee the entire operation of the facility, including hiring, training, and developing a team of about 12 full- and part-time employees. The role involves creating a strong team culture focused on hospitality, accountability, and care, ensuring the daily operations run smoothly and efficiently. The General Manager will handle scheduling, labor management, and inventory control to maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment. Building community relationships through outreach and local partnerships is also a key part of the role, coupled with working closely with Yardstick leadership on improvements and growth initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have over five years of leadership or people management experience, strong organizational abilities, excellent communication skills, and a customer-centric approach. Integrity, reliability, and accountability are essential traits for success in this role. The work environment is fast-paced and hands-on, suitable for someone who thrives on responsibility and growth challenges. While experience in the pet industry is a plus, it is not a requirement. Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays is necessary, as Yardstick operates 365 days a year. The compensation for this role includes a target salary of approximately $65,000 annually, supplemented by performance-based bonuses.
