The role of General Manager / Executive Director at Serenova at Woodforest offers a rare and exciting leadership opportunity. As the founding leader of this brand-new concierge community, the successful candidate will be responsible for guiding the community from pre-opening lease-up through stabilization and ongoing operational success. This position involves shaping the community's culture, setting the standard for resident experience, building and leading a strong team, and establishing operational processes from the ground up. With direct access to corporate executive leadership and a bonus structure designed to reward long-term results tied to occupancy, net operating income, and resident experience, this position provides the resources and support needed to make a lasting impact.

The General Manager / Executive Director is a visionary leader with a passion for building thriving communities. This role demands a builder’s mindset, thriving in pre-opening environments where pace, organization, and accountability are essential. Managing the community’s financial health through proficiency in profit and loss statements is crucial, as well as driving revenue optimization, labor management, and expense control. Leading departments such as Concierge & Lifestyle, Culinary & Bar, Maintenance, and Housekeeping, this position sets a cultural tone that permeates every aspect of the resident experience.

Job Requirements

  • 5-10+ years of senior living leadership or hospitality or service-driven leadership experience
  • Proven track record of success in lease-up or occupancy growth, financial management, and team building
  • Strong P&L knowledge and ability to balance resident experience with financial goals
  • Ability to work in a pre-opening environment with a builder’s mindset
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience with lease-up or opening new communities preferred

Job Qualifications

  • 5-10+ years of senior living leadership (IL / AL / Active Adult) or hospitality / service-driven leadership at comparable scope
  • Proven results in lease-up or occupancy growth, financial management, and team and culture building
  • P&L fluency - you read a statement, know the drivers, and make trade-offs that protect both the resident experience and the bottom line
  • A builder’s mindset - you thrive in pre-opening environments and bring order, pace, and accountability
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Lease-up or new-community opening experience strongly preferred

Job Duties

  • Own occupancy, net operating income, and resident experience from pre-opening through stabilization, translating company strategy into disciplined daily execution
  • Partner closely with the Community Relations Director on the lease-up funnel - weekly pipeline reviews, conversion management, and move-in pacing vs. plan
  • Recruit, develop, and lead a high-performing leadership team across Concierge & Lifestyle, Culinary & Bar, Maintenance, and Housekeeping
  • Deliver a high-touch, concierge-level resident experience every day, and set the cultural tone every department executes against
  • Build the operating budget with the EVP of Operations and drive operating income through revenue optimization, labor discipline, and expense control, reported monthly, reviewed quarterly
  • Build the local presence through healthcare providers, civic and referral partners, community events that make Serenova a known brand in the market
