Job Description
Fogo de Chao is a renowned Brazilian steakhouse, or churrascaria, that prides itself on offering guests an unforgettable dining journey centered on the culinary art of Churrasco. Dedicated to igniting fire and joy, the company emphasizes caring for its team, guests, and surrounding communities alike. With a mission to feed a purposeful future, Fogo de Chao creates an environment where team members find fulfilling job opportunities and a welcoming atmosphere around the table. The restaurant’s values—teamwork, integrity, excellence, humility, and the spirit of Deixa Comigo (meaning "we've got you")—define the way the organization operates daily, ensuring an inclusive culture focused on collective success.
As a General Manager at Fogo de Chao, you will step into a pivotal leadership role designed to maintain and elevate the standards of this distinguished restaurant brand. The position involves overseeing both the front of house and heart of house managers, alongside an office assistant, fostering a cohesive and high-performing restaurant management team. You will be responsible for attracting, developing, and retaining top restaurant leadership talent and ensuring that staffing levels meet the dynamic demands of the establishment. A key focus will be on the professional growth of next-level restaurant leaders by executing development programs and partnering with Talent Acquisition to communicate advancement opportunities effectively.
You will also collaborate closely with the Sales Manager to drive group dining sales revenues, ensure smooth event execution, and optimize staffing and yield for each event date and time. Monitoring guest satisfaction and brand consistency will be central to your role, including analyzing guest sentiment data to identify trends, address service gaps, and implement corrective improvement plans. Mastery and enforcement of the Guest Ready Routines across various time frames—shift, day, week, month, and quarter—will ensure the restaurant consistently delivers exceptional experiences.
In addition to managing daily operations, you will be accountable for the restaurant’s complete operational and financial success, including achieving revenue and EBITDA targets through strategic forecasting and filling revenue gaps. The role requires an awareness of local and industry dining trends, as well as active participation in the Facilities Maintenance program by submitting timely repair and maintenance requests. Maintaining uncompromised safety standards for guests and employees is a fundamental responsibility.
This role is best suited for an experienced restaurant professional with a strong background in churrascaria cuisine or similar establishments. You will benefit from meaningful travel and opportunities for growth in a supportive environment that actively promotes personal and professional development. Overall, this General Manager position offers a highly rewarding career path within a celebrated restaurant organization committed to hospitality excellence and enduring community impact.
